About
Our purpose
To become the best version of ourselves we don’t just need one another – we each need to nurture a posture that allows us to increasingly understand just how deeply that need runs. This allows us to better hear what others might call out in us, which in turn helps us see and say what can be called out in others. Some might think this is a bit much. Weird even. We don’t mind that. But we call it ‘team’. The depth of trust, of caring, of seeing, of speaking, that grows in our team is what makes us happy and fulfilled at work. This is the foundation that helps us become excellent. And we love showing up each day to share this example with others. So, we’ve purposefully embedded ourselves deeply within an industry that gives us opportunities to do just that.
We work in the conference and events sector.
Our mission
We want to create spaces where people connect to affect positive changes anywhere in the world.
Our how
We curate, create and evolve web applications that deepen relationships by facilitating interactions within communities.
Our vision
We see in our future:
Our story
In the early noughties, Tim Davies, one of the company’s two founding directors began working in the conference and events space as part of a marketing agency servicing departments at Reed Exhibitions, UBM, and several other organisers of various sizes.
Lee Jackson, the other founder, has been running web development businesses since the mid-90s. A mere few months after they met, their first web application was created to service conferences and events. Soon they formed a new company to focus solely on web application development for the sector.
Many tech legends have joined along the way and our products have powered thousands of events large and small, across the globe.
The passion that drives both founders has permeated through the business to create a culture of excellence where everyone has ample opportunity to flourish. The result is a team of skilled web technicians who thrive in their work and produce some of the highest quality, proven, easy-to-use products available.
What we do
We develop powerful web applications for event organisers that are designed for ease of use. These tools help organise, market and deliver events – whether online, in-person or both. We know and love events. We run our own. We sponsor some. We attend loads. We watch, listen, make connections, ask questions and explore better ways of working.
Our approach
We don’t set out to own as much as possible and so we’re freed from the need to reinvent good things that are already available. We build products in whatever way makes the most sense for our clients – either by making use of existing open source or commercial platforms with a proven track record, or by building our own solution, or creating a blend. Our love for events is matched only by our passion for new web technologies.
Our commitment to quality
We are committed to delivering the highest quality in our applications and services and our own rigorous coding guidelines are adhered to with scrutiny. This means that our team’s dedication to excellence supersedes all product evolution timelines. Each team member is educated, experienced and skilled in their field, ensuring that all projects meet our toughest standards. We thoroughly test our products, explore multiple scenarios, and implement redundancy measures to raise the standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Customer-centricity
What does this mean to us? It means we ask this question with every project: ‘Are we approaching this project from the perspective of a programmer aiming to find the simplest route to solving the problem, or from that of the user having the best possible experience?’ Asking this means there’s little room for compromise. We are intent on building the products that make our customers, and their customers, very happy. It’s why our customer retention rate is so high.
Social responsibility
Our company is not a family. We tend to steer clear of companies that make such claims since it usually means: ‘We call our business a family, and nothing is more important than our business’. Rather, we understand that every team member has their own family. And for each person, there’s nothing more important than that. We create the space and flexibility for team members to work around their particular outside-of-work commitments. Life’s too short and too precious to do anything else. Also, each family exists within its own local community – so we support those communities too. Team members are encouraged to raise issues local to them that the company may be able to support. We don’t tend to promote these things – but we do them. We’ll gladly talk about them if you ask us though.
Sustainability
We share this place with you and your family, friends, customers and colleagues. We aim to reduce pollution by helping organisers, sponsors and attendees to have increasingly better online experiences thereby lessening the requirement to travel. We also work with partners who can help our clients understand the metrics and strategies for making their events carbon negative – a significant improvement to aiming for ‘carbon neutral’.
Diversity and inclusion
You don’t need our permission to be whoever you are, wherever you are. But we want you to know anyway – you’re welcome to be wherever we meet. Our promise is that we’ll do whatever it takes to make you feel right at home with us. This ethos is reflected in our culture and therefore in all our product designs.
Corporate integrity and ethics
We mean what we say and we’ll deliver what we promise. We treat our teams very, very well. The proof of all of this is our impeccable employee and client retention rate.
Team and culture
We make space for our team members to explore and pursue what they’re good at. This causes the whole team to flourish and plays a significant role in guiding the direction of the business.
Growth and future goals
We’re an ambitious bunch. We want to help as many communities as we’re able. We have plans to double our reach each year. Our method for doing so is simple: We remain riveted to our values and never push to close on a purchase agreement. Only when we’re confident of a good fit – that values align and all parties are confident of our ability to assist – do we set out a proposition. All of our prospective clients are guided to only join us if and when the time is right for them.
Partnerships and collaborations
We operate as merely one component of a large, multi-faceted international industry. We continually seek to collaborate with other businesses who align with our commitments and values. If you think that might be you, please get in touch.
